This Special Needs Bandana Bib came into being after I saw all the cute little bandana bibs for babies, and I wanted to create a bib for my nephew, who has cerebral palsy, that didn’t look like a bib.
So I drafted and tested a new pattern enlarged from a baby bib up so it would fit a larger neck and head and figured out how to make the top layer drape more bandana like, but still fit around the edges, and be adjustable.
It is great for children who have just grown out of the baby bibs, but are a little small yet for the bigger bib sizes. So Kindy to Primary School age. They are designed to cover mostly the under chin area, and are purposely narrower around the back of the neck to avoid any unnecessary warmth in our hot climate.
Made to protect the kid’s clothing and keep them dry so you only need to change the bib instead of going through the hassle of undressing and redressing several times a day. They come in a huge array of colours and prints, and are easily taken off and on and adjustable with 3-4 snaps across the back of the neck evenly spaced so any overlapping ones snap into each other, simply adding a little padding behind the neck.
These Child Size Bandana Bibs are made with 3 distinct layers:
- Upper cotton fabric is durable, breathable and cool so it wont irritate the wearer’s skin.
- The absorbent inner core is Organic Bamboo Terry which is naturally absorbent and antibacterial.
- The lower layer is a soft waterproof Polyurethane Laminate Fabric which should rest on the wearer’s clothing, keeping them nice and dry.
We have carefully prewashed the natural fabrics in a hot load to prevent it running or shrinking in future washes, and our bibs are made to be really durable to withstand being washed everyday to keep them fresh.
We recommend using a cold machine wash, and line drying in the shade to preserve the colour, and save on energy, but they can be washed in a warm or hot load and popped in the dryer on warm if necessary.
Proudly designed and made both ethically and professionally right here in Qld, our machinists love what they do and get paid a living wage.
We have priced them at wholesale, cost price to cover materials, labour and a small amount for overheads but they are largely a labour of love, so please do not ask for a discount off the bibs, however we are always happy to do up bulk orders to save on shipping.
With that in mind we have also partnered with Zip Pay on orders we can ship straight away so you can order now and pay them off at your leisure, should you not be eligible to get them paid for by the NDIS.
We are always happy to work with clients to make up an order, and send the invoice through to their NDIS fund manager for payment, but no stock leaves the premises until the order is paid in full.
We can easily make up a larger custom order on request, just email me through your client/child’s name, age, contact person, email, mobile, and mailing address along with what you would like to order, and if you need any help selecting the appropriate bib style, or would like to see our large range of prints available, just let me know.
Please follow us on Instagram or Facebook for updates on new stock under production and other services we provide.
We will happily accept returns on any stock bibs that do not suite or fit you if they are in new clean condition.
We cannot accept returns on custom orders.
We pride ourselves on quality construction, but if if any problems with construction do arise, within the first couple of months, just contact us and send them back and we will fix them and return them back to you.
